Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Doug has lived not only in the United States but in Europe and in Asia as well. He has traveled extensively and has visited in more than 30 countries. As a result, he has developed a love for travel, for people, for different cultures, and for the art that is found in nature and in everyday life. That passion is apparent in his photography.
Doug served almost eight years in military service. While in the service he also became accomplished with three different musical instruments and performed regularly in several musical aggregations. Upon competion of his military service he completed an electrical engineering degree and became a successful software engineer and manager with a major NASA contractor working on the International Space Station for almost 20 years. Simultaneously he began developing his photography skills more than 40 years ago and for the last 15 years has been heavily engaged in his life-long dream of full-time photography.
Doug’s background has helped him develop an international appeal in his photos. As a result, they have been featured in books, magazines, solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, National Geographic’s Daily Dozen, and in countless online photography forums. His photos have been selected as winner in international competitions.
Doug resides with his wife, Ikiee, in Busan, South Korea. He welcomes your contact.
